Fishing Rod Building Block Set | Working Reel Model Kit

The last brick clicks into place, the crank turns, and the line actually winds in. A brick-built baitcaster that spools, casts and holds its little lure on the end of the line, finished on a display stand that earns a permanent spot on the shelf.

Builders follow a numbered picture manual through the reel mechanism, rod sections and stand, learning how a gear train and spool work by assembling them by hand. The Gold Baitcaster measures about 68 cm (27 in) on its stand. Recommended from age 8, it is just as absorbing for grown-up builders and anglers, and makes a handsome desk piece once it is done. Six designs, from a navy spinning reel to a rod twined with red blossoms.

• Functional brick-built reel that lets the line out and winds it back in
• Interlocking plastic bricks with illustrated step-by-step manual and display stand
• Builds mechanical reasoning, patience and fine motor precision
• Recommended for ages 8+, or from 6 with an adult helping. Contains small parts, not suitable for children under 3
